Greetings everyone…My name is Shalina (Lina) Baker.  I am the Founder, Creator, Baker and Cake Artist behind “Sweet Treats By Lina LLC”.  By day I am a wife, mother, mentor and business woman who has a great support from my family and friends.  In addition, they are my true-blue taste testers when a new creation hits me…LOL.  My passion for baking and creating gourmet desserts started at an early age when I used to watch my mother bake and design cakes from scratch for over 30 years.  As a Master Cake Decorator, my mother has always made the most beautiful designs, the most delicious cakes and the best tasting icings and her labor of love shined through in her work.

It wasn’t until I moved to the South that I got inspired and my creative juices started to flow.  My pivotal moment came when I decided to make my son’s birthday cake from an original recipe that I created.  Needless to say, I got rave reviews from our family, friends and guests and they all suggested that I market and sell my cakes.  

By seeking and trusting God, prayer, trial and error and my husband encouraging me to step out on faith, I sold my first cake.  Wow…what a liberating experience!!  From that moment I knew from that I had to follow my passion and perfect my craft even further.  I enrolled in classes, got some of my family recipes from my mother and have worked with and have been mentored by some of my baking colleagues.   In addition, I stayed in my kitchen for endless hours, testing, combining flavors and documenting recipes that I created.  This is how “Sweet Treats By Lina LLC” was born;  and it hasn’t stopped since then.  To this day, I am still studying and perfecting my craft and I am still in the kitchen working on something new or improving on something old.
